Koi Palace Daly City

this brief review is pretty much for my non-chinese friends...& in honor of koi's 20 classy yrs of authentic noms... also, tips for my foodies too... been coming since the very beginning in '96...even alwaz with a couple hr madhouse wait in the early yrs...u know what they say...u know it's good when its own people eat there, haha... beautiful décor, fresh food, unique items, above avg chinese resto service...specializes in dim sum & seafood...wall of tanks w/ live selections in the foyer (aquarium for kiddos)... glad they've also expanded to the east & south bays... kk, here's that lil tip for my foodie friends...my fam loves their $98 weekday (+$20 wknds) 6-course "Pumpkin Golden Buns Peking Duck Din": duck 3 ways (peking style, soup, & braised filets), XLB & 2 add'l dishes from a list of 21 choices (incl lobster)...it's a great deal!...feeds 4-5...we usually get this & add more dishes...chk out my yelp or foodie album here for pix... there r other set menus & plenty of a-la-cartes...special events, like wedds, r nice here...when celebrating with a big group, consider preordering a whole suckling pig for $248...lastly, i've alwaz been interested in trying their "treasure pot"/"poon choi" too...seems to be $158-209 for a meal fit for 5ppl... if u've been living under a rock for the last few decades & haven't been here b4, for some odddd reason, u should come enjoy a dim sum lunch and/or nice chinese din soon...if u r a party of 2, u'll prob get a table along the lil koi pond...i jus heart their main dining hall period... p.s. parking could be a challenge when busy, but there r other nearby lots...

Love authentic food, love great food, love love this place. Amazing dim sum in the US? Who would have thought!
